A three-time NAIA All-American first team choice, Johna Dodson played a key role in putting Southern Nazarene University women’s golf on the map. With the guidance of NAIA Hall of Fame Coach Steve Hulsey, Dodson finished seventh at the 2002 NAIA National Championships as the Crimson Storm won the program’s second national title. Dodson played in the NAIA National Championships all four years at SNU and placed in the top 15 in three of the four tournaments. She took 10th in 2001 and 14th in 2000. In 2000, she led the nation in stroke average at 78.
 
Dodson still holds the school record for most career wins with 16 in 37 tournaments played and ranks third all-time in school history in stroke average at 79.86.
 
Dodson graduated from Southern Nazarene in 2003 with a bachelor’s in accounting and then earned her MBA from 2003-05 while serving as a graduate assistant for Coach Hulsey. In 2004 she began work at Chesapeake Energy and is now a JV Audit Supervisor. She holds committee chairs for the Council of Accountants Societies. She is also is a CPA.
 
Dodson has not strayed much from the game as she claimed an albatross August 2, 2014, in the EWGA Regional Qualifier on hole No. 7 (Par 5) at Hefner’s North Course.
