Hall of Fame
When Southern Nazarene began football in 2000 they could not have known that a freshman by the name of Jason Kilmer was about to set the bar of what no one else has yet to do in 15 years of Crimson Storm football, or better yet, in college football in the state of Oklahoma. The all-time leader in collegiate rushing, Kilmer ran for nearly 5,000 yards in four years. He finished with 4,964 yards more than 2,000 yards above the nearest rusher in school history.
Â
Kilmer holds nine different career records, five different single season records and seven single-game records. He holds school all-time records for rushing yards, attempts (842), rushing touchdowns (49), average yards per rush (5.9), average yards per game (130.6), all-purpose yards (5,192), all-purpose yards per game (136.6), total points scored (316) and touchdowns scored (52). He is in the top 10 all-time in school history in 14 different categories.
Â
He holds single-season records rushing yards (1,380), rushing attempts (246), rushing touchdowns (15), average yards per rush (6.58) and rushing yards per game (152.1). He also holds single-game records for most carries (43), most net yards rushing (312), average gain per rush (10.6), touchdowns (4) and most points scored (24).
Â
He was an AFCA/NAIA All-American selection in 2003 and earned an Victory Sports Network All-American honorable mention in 2002 and 2003. He was also a VSN Super-Six choice in 2003. He is still the only player in program history to have his jersey retired (No. 44).
Â
Kilmer graduated from Southern Nazarene in 2003 with a bachelor’s in criminal justice. He works now as an electrician and lives with his wife Melissa and they have two children, a daughter, Morgan, and a son, Jordan.
