Southern Nazarene University Athletics

With 13 National Championships at the NAIA level and 16 Great American Conference Championships since joining NCAA Division II in 2013-14, Southern Nazarene is one of the most successful and well-known small college athletic programs in the entire state of Oklahoma.  Throughout the years since the inception of Athletics at SNU back in 1964, SNU has grown from one sport, Men's Basketball, to 16 Division II sports along with a cheer and equestrian program under the leadership of former Athletic Director Bobby Martin. After Martin's retirement in June of 2019, the Storm began a new era under the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Danny Thomason, which has seen the addition of Men's and Women's Rugby, Bowling, and STUNT.

Since becoming members of NCAA Division II, the Crimson Storm have made tremendous strides in all sports as they continue to establish themselves as a prominent force in the Great American Conference. The SNU Volleyball program captured the school's first GAC title back in 2016, while Men's Basketball has built their program into one of the powerhouses in the entire conference. Capturing three consecutive GAC Regular Season Championships in 2018. 2019, and 2020, the Men's Basketball program also won the GAC Tournament in 2018 and 2019 and reached the NCAA Division II Tournament in 2018, 2019, and 2020.  The SNU Women's Basketball program captured their own piece of hardware as they ran the table in the 2021 GAC Tournament to win the program's first conference title in the Division II era. In 2021, the SNU Men's Soccer team earned their first GAC/MIAA Regular Season championship. In 2022-23, SNU put together thier most successful year of the DII era to date as Men's Soccer won both the GAC/MIAA Regular Season and Tournament Championships, Women's Basketball won both the GAC Regular Season and Tournament championships, and Men's Basketball won the GAC Regular Season Championship by a record six games, and also made their way to the NCAA Central Region finals after knocking off three-time defending national champions, Northwest Missouri State in the NCAA tournament. SNU Women's Rugby also earned a Lonestar Conference Championship in their first ever season in program history. Last year, SNU Athletics topped that season as Men's Soccer won another GAC/MIAA Regular Season and Tournament Championship, Football earned their first ever trip DII winning season and earned a trip to the Fun Town RV Heritage Bowl, Women's Rugby won another Lonestar Conference championship, and Women's Basketball won the GAC Regular Season Championship and hosted the DII Central Region Tournament as the No. 1 overall seed, where they made the Sweet 16.
