A two-time NAIA All-American, NAIA Kodak/WBCA All-American and Sooner Athletic Conference Player of the year, Avril (Freeman) Jaborski still is the all-time leader in points per game at Southern Nazarene University. A member of the 1988-89 team that won the program’s first NAIA National Championship, Jaborski averaged 20.3 points per game in her two years for SNU. She also holds the school record for steals per game at 3.9 and is second all-time in school history in field goal percentage at 62.2.
 
She holds five different single-season records, including points (775), points per game (22.8), steals (158), steals per game (4.6) and field goals made (304).
 
Jaborski graduated from SNU in 1990 with a Bachelor’s of Science in elementary education. She then taught fourth grade at Hilldale Elementary in the Putnam City School District for four years. From there she returned to school and earned a Bachelor’s of Science in physical therapy at OU Health Science Center from 1994-96 She worked as a physical therapist in Oklahoma City and Norman until 2001 when she moved to Chicago to work for AthletiCo. After managing a clinic there for four years she moved to California in 2005 and worked as a traveling therapist in Northern California.
 
She married her husband Matt in 2008 and they had their first child Chole in 2010. She now manages the books for Jaborski Construction and is a stay-at-home mom. They are also in the process of adopting a little boy. The Jaborskis now attend Calvary Chapel of Truckee where Matt is an usher and Avril is over the Nursery ministry and helps with the food ministry. While basketball was a big passion for Jaborski, she now enjoys competing in marathons, and more currently half marathons.
