Box Score GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — Sedrick Johnson totaled a season-high 151 yards on nine catches and scored two touchdowns as Southern Nazarene fell 22-19 to McMurry (Texas).
The Crimson Storm (0-6) went for over 400 yards of offense for the first time this season and nearly pulled off the first win of the season.

SNU took its first halftime lead into the locker room after an Ian Sanders 30-yard field goal in the first quarter and a Dylan Terry to Johnson touchdown pass gave the Storm a 10-7 lead at halftime. Sanders put the Storm on the board first with 8:40 left in the first to cap a 12-play, 50-yard drive and then Johnson pulled in a 13-yard pass from Terry to end a 12-play, 67-yard drive.

The War Hawks, who totaled 364 yards of total offense, retook the lead at 14-10 with 5:34 left in the third, but SNU got two points back when Christo Lisika picked up a safety for the Storm to make it 14-12 with 14:40 left in the fourth. McMurry extended its lead to 22-13 with a touchdown and 9:17 left to play, but SNU didn't go away.

Less than two minutes later, Terry marched the Storm down the field again and hit Johnson once again with 7:25 left to cut the deficit to 22-19 on a 12-yard pass.

McMurry looked to be in control in the final minutes and pushed it into SNU territory with just 57 seconds left and a fourth and 11 left. McM quarterback Jake Mullin though was sacked at the SNU 45-yard line and the Storm got the ball back with 50 seconds to play.

Facing a third down and six to go Terry hit his favorite target for a 42-yard pass all the way down to the McMurry nine-yard line with just 30 seconds left. After two incomplete passes, Terry found Jakeil Everhart on a third and goal for a six-yard pass up to the McM three-yard line. With just seconds left and no timeouts, Terry raced to the line and mistakenly spiked the ball and ended SNU's chances just three yards away.

Terry finished with a career-high 274 yards passing and was 25-for-50 with two touchdown passes. SNU almost had two 100-yard receivers as Jarod Martin had 93 yards receiving on five catches. Derek Perkins went over 2,000 career yards rushing with a season-high 73 yards as SNU went for a season-high 179 yards on the ground. The Storm totaled 453 yards of total offense.

The Crimson Storm will now hit the road once again as they travel to Kansas Wesleyan for a 7 p.m. game.
