Crimson Storm Fall to No. 2 Harding on Homecoming

Southern Nazarene drops home contest to undefeated Bisons

BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene returned home for Homecoming Saturday afternoon, hosting No. 2 Harding inside the SNU Football Stadium, but the Bisons showed why they remain undefeated, topping the Crimson Storm 52-14.

Southern Nazarene (1-9, 1-9 GAC) relied on the run game Saturday afternoon as they went head to head with Bisons (10-0, 10-0 GAC) who were nearly unstoppable on the ground putting together 504 rushing yards. The Crimson Storm racked up 236 yards on the ground, marking their second highest rushing total of the season.

Harding's offense struck first late in the opening quarter as Braden Jay punched in a 9-yard run to make it 7-0. The Bisons then exploded for four touchdowns in the second quarter to break the game open. Cole Keylon sprinted 56 yards for a score, followed by another Jay touchdown, this time a 36-yard run. Andrew Miller added a 67-yard touchdown run before Jay found the end zone once again from 26 yards out, giving Harding a commanding 35-0 lead at halftime.

Southern Nazarene found a spark coming out of the break as Kaden Manuel capped a 37-yard drive with a 25-yard rushing touchdown to get the Crimson Storm on the board. Harding answered quickly with a 71-yard touchdown run from Christian Franklin, but SNU responded again when Jaxon Worley connected with Davon Sparks on a 24-yard touchdown strike to make it 42-14 midway through the third.

The Bisons added a 30-yard field goal from Magnus Lepak and a late 5-yard touchdown run by Josh Strickland Jr. to close out the 52-14 victory.
