Great American Conference Notebook
BETHANY, Okla. — Both Southern Nazarene and Southwestern Oklahoma State are looking to pick up its second win of the season. The Crimson Storm picked up their first win of the season two weeks ago against McMurry (Texas) while the Bulldogs scored their first win in week two with a 13-10 win over East Central.
SNU lost 47-14 last week to Southern Arkansas while SWOSU has lost five straight, including a 26-16 loss last week to Southeastern Oklahoma State.

RECAPPING THE WEEK
Southern Nazarene trailed just 20-14 at halftime against Southern Arkansas, but a big second half by the Muleriders put any hopes of an upset to bed. SAU scored 27 unanswered points in the second half as it had 521 yards of total offense. The Mulerieders ran for 182 yards and threw for 339. Southern Nazarene rushed for 25 yards and threw for 223.
Dylan Terry threw for 198 yards on 22-for-33 passing and threw for one touchdown. Sedrick Johnson nearly had his third straight 100-yard receiving game as the senior ran for 92 yards on 10 carries.
Southwestern gave up 427 yards of total offense to Southeastern Oklahoma State, but trailed just by three points heading into the fourth quarter. The Savage Storm took a 6-0 lead early when the Bulldogs tied it at 6-6. SOSU took a 13-6 lead in the second, but SWOSU answered right back to tie it at 13. Southeastern took a 19-13 lead into the half before the Bulldogs got a field goal with just seconds left in the third. The Savage Storm though put it away late in the fourth with a touchdown to seal it.
Dustin Stenta threw for 225 yards and two touchdowns. Kirk Jones and Ryan Corbin each had five catches and a touchdown as Jones led the way with 99 yards receiving. The Bulldogs rushed for 106 yards as Aaron Wilson had 44 yards while D.C. Walker had 43.
THE LAST TIME
It was back in 2003 the last time these two played and it is the only time the two have ever met. The Bulldogs routed the Crimson Storm 32-6 in Bethany. Southwestern led 32-0 until Jason Kilmer scored with 3:04 left to finally get the Storm on the board. The Bulldogs had 405 yards of total offense and threw for 243 yards. SNU's Dan Denardo threw for 139 yards while Kilmer had 101 yards rushing on 16 carries.
TURNING OVER POINTS
Southern Nazarene has scored four touchdowns on the defensive side with two coming by way of interceptions and two off of fumble recovery. Josh Daugerty has one on either side while Stan West as an interception return and Matt Pruitt has a fumble returned for a touchdown.
AMONG THE GAC
The Crimson Storm are tied for second in the Great American Conference in sacks with Henderson State at 21 each and are also tied for fourth in the GAC in interceptions with Southern Arkansas with four.
Michael Hicks leads the GAC in tackles with 89 and is averaging 11.1 per game. Dillon Brumbaugh is right behind in third as he is averaging 9.9 tackles per game and has 79 on the year. Hicks and Christo Lisika are fifth and seventh in the conference in sacks as Hicks has five and Lisika has 4.5. Lisika is second in tackles for a loss with 12. Matt Pruitt is in the top 10 in passes defended with seven.
Southern Nazarene ranks fifth in the conference in pass defense as it is allowing 192.8 yards per game through the air. Sedrick Johnson is third in the GAC in receptions per game averaging 7.0. He is also fourth in the receiving yards per game at 76.2 and eighth in points per game at 5.5.
CATCHING UP
Sedrick Johnson is just nine receptions away from setting the school's single-season record. The senior currently has 56 which is third most in a single-season. Jarod Martin is second with 61 catches in 2010 and Kevin Brooks holds the school record with 65 receptions in 2009.
Dylan Terry is 461 yards away from becoming just the third player in school history to throw for 2,000 yards in a single-season. Brady Wardlaw hit the mark three times from 2009-2011 and became the school's first 3,000-yard passer in 2010. Tyler Schneider was the only other player to hit 2,000 yards passing in a single-season with 2,072 in 2007. Terry currently has 1,539 yards passing this season.
Derick Perkins is just two touchdowns away from tying Branden Smith (2006-09) for second all-time in school history in rushing touchdowns. Perkins currently has 21. Jason Kilmer has the school record with 49.
Jarod Martin moved back ahead of Derick Perkins for second all-time in school history in points scored as Martin has 174 and Perkins has 172. Martin is also second with 29 career touchdowns and Perkins has 28.
Ian Sanders is also third all-time in point after kicks made with 73. He needs just two more to tie Chris Borah (2003-05) for second. Ryan Brock (2007-09) has the school record with 84.
ABOUT THE BULLDOGS
Southwestern Oklahoma State is averaging 21.1 points per game and is giving up 35.4 points per contest. Aaron Wilson is fourth in the Great American Conference in rushing as he averages 80.4 yards per game. Dustin Stenta is just ahead of Dylan Terry in passing yards per game as Stenta is averaging 237.9 yards per game. Brad Smithey is averaging 77.2 receiving yards per game, ranking him third in the GAC.The Bulldogs are giving up an average of 406.4 yards per game and are second to last in the GAC in pass defense at 261.3 yards per game. Jonathan Darby is second in the league in tackles with 60 while Jim O'Brien is sixth in sacks with 4.5. Terrance Frankiln is also second in the GAC in interceptions with four.
