Box Score

WICHITA, Kan. —
Southern Nazarene will be glad to have three of its final four games at home after the Storm dropped back-to-back games on the road with the second coming to MidAmerica Nazarene, 41-17, Saturday afternoon.

While it was a neutral environment as the two met at Wichita State's Cessna Stadium, the Pioneers (5-1) treated the Crimson Storm (5-2) like they were on their turf.

MidAmerica Nazarene became the first team this year to rack up over 400 yards against Southern Nazarene and hold the Storm to under 300 yards of total offense. The Pioneers gained 418 yards with 244 coming on the ground and 174 through air and held SNU to just 275 total yards. The Storm rushed for 120 yards and threw for 155.

Wardlaw was 19-for-33 and had two interceptions. Derick Perkins rushed for 50 yards on 11 carries while no SNU receiver had over 40 yards receiving.

Matt Pruitt led the way on the defensive side with 10 tackles and two interceptions

The Pioneers took the first lead of the game after scoring on their first drive of the game and then added a field goal on their second drive to lead 10-0. After MNU hit the field goal, the Storm answered on the kickoff when Trevon Hartfield took the kickoff back to the house to make it a 10-7 game and then tied it at 10 when Shawn Mingledorff drilled a 22-yard field with 9:50 left in the second quarter.

It was all MNU from there.

The Pioneers went up 17-10 with 4:40 in the half left before taking a 24-10 lead with less than a minute remaining in the second quarter. On the first play of the ensuing drive for SNU, the Storm turned the ball over on a fumble and MidAmerica Nazarene used four plays to take a 31-10 lead at the half.

The Pioneers extended the lead to 38-10 early in the third on a 3-play drive after blocking a punt on SNU's first possession of the second half.

The Storm cut it to 38-17 late in the third when Wardlaw hit Jakeil Everhart for a 25-yard strike that capped a 5-play, 52-yard drive. SNU took possession when Pruitt picked off his second pass of the game to give the Storm the ball at their own 48-yard line.

MNU added a late field goal to cap the game.

Southern Nazarene will now get set to host Texas Wesleyan, Oct. 22, for a 2 p.m. CSFL game.
