Crimson Storm Competes at NCAA Outdoor Championships

Abriel Thrash earned two All-America honors while Micky McAlexander recorded a personal best in Emporia

EMPORIA, Kan. - The Southern Nazarene women's track and field team sent two athletes to compete in the NCAA DII Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Emporia, Kansas, as the Crimson Storm closed out the outdoor season on the national stage.

Abriel Thrash continued her dominant run at the NCAA Championships, earning All-American honors for the third straight season. Thrash finished fourth in the heptathlon with a score of 5363 to collect First-Team All-American honors once again. She also added another All-America performance in the women's high jump, clearing 1.67m (5'5.75") to finish eighth overall and earn her second All-America nod of the weekend.

Micky McAlexander represented the Crimson Storm in the women's shot put and delivered a personal-best performance on the national stage. McAlexander recorded a mark of 14.71m (48'3.25") to finish eleventh in the nation, earning Second-Team All-American honors in the process.

The Crimson Storm wrapped up another successful outdoor season in Emporia and will now turn their attention toward the offseason as they begin preparing for next year.
