HOT SPRINGS, Ark. — The Great American Conference released the 2022 All-Conference lists Friday evening and the Crimson Storm were awarded three All-GAC recognitions.
Stamped onto the All-GAC First Team list, EJ Taylor posted one incredible season, leading the team with a .846 slugging percentage and ranking No. 1 in the GAC in on-base percentage (.536) and batting average (.438). Taylor also ranked first in the GAC in total hits with 20 and smacked a team-high 16 homeruns on the season.
Another Storm member added to the list was Brian Brown whose time at the plate secured him an All-GAC Honorable Mention award. Ranked top-5 in the GAC in slugging percentage (.735), RBIs, and batting average (.382), Brown was a force for the Crimson Storm, leading the team with 62 total RBIs and two homers behind Taylor with 14 for the season.
Taylor also did work in the field, appearing on the All-Defensive Team list. The senior recorded 226 putouts on the year, yielding a .963 fielding percentage.
Performances from both Taylor and Brown have helped the Storm tie their 13-win season achieved back in 2015, which has been their most wins in a season over the last six years.
