Box Score WICHITA, Kan. — Friends held Southern Nazarene to just 141 yards of total offense and no offensive touchdowns in a 17-7 loss to the Falcons Saturday night.
The Crimson Storm (0-3) got 172 yards passing from
Dylan Terry as he went 13-for-31 for 172 yards.
Sedrick Johnson totaled 85 yards receiving on four catches while
Jarod Martin also had four catches for 47 yards.
Friends totaled 359 yards total with 313 coming on the ground on 62 attempts. Lewis Taylro rushed for 122 yards on 15 carries.
On the defensive side,
Michael Hicks totaled 16 tackles on the night and was followed closely by
Dillon Brumbaugh who had 12 tackles, three of which were for a loss of 11 yards.
Matt Pruitt scored the only touchdown for SNU after he recovered a fumble, forced by
Chris Chaney, late in the fourth quarter and took it back 75 yards for the score.
That was the only points the Storm put up on the board.
Friends scored twice in the first quarter on drives of 97 and 75 yards and led 14-0 through three quarters of play. The Falcons made it 17-0 on a 37-yard field goal by Kelyn Pohlman and that was all Friends needed.
The Crimson Storm will now get set for the home opener, Saturday, when it hosts Harding for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
