Crimson Storm Shutout in Durant

Southeastern Oklahoma State shuts down Southern Nazarene, 35-0

DURANT, Okla. — Southern Nazarene was shut out on the road Saturday afternoon in Durant, falling 35-0 to Southeastern Oklahoma State.

The Crimson Storm (0-4, 0-4 GAC) dropped to 0-4 on the season falling to the Savage Storm (3-1, 3-1 GAC) in a one sided ball game.

Southeastern Oklahoma State struck first on defense. De'Teaurean Johnson returned an interception 85 yards for a touchdown at the 6:31 mark of the first quarter, with Dylan Cox adding the extra point to make it 7-0.

The Savage Storm extended the lead in the second quarter. Jaylen Holloway capped an 8-play, 75-yard drive with a 1-yard touchdown run at 10:52 to make it 14-0. Levay Duncan then connected with Sean Steens on a 78-yard touchdown pass to push it to 21-0.

Southeastern kept the pressure on after the break as Southern Nazarene struggled to find a response. Duncan hit Kameron Lockhart for a 64-yard touchdown pass at 9:52 of the third quarter to make it 28-0.

The Crimson Storm was still unable to find a response as Southeastern closed out the scoring in the fourth. Luke Hohenberger scored on a 1-yard run with 7:42 to go to cap a 59-yard drive that took 6:22 off the clock to make it 35-0.

Jaxon Worley led SNU on the ground with 65 yards, while Maddox Olatunde added 59 yards and Isaiah Gaddis chipped in 42 yards. SNU finished with 151 yards rushing on 49 attempts and 128 yards passing, but was held without a score and turned the ball over twice.

The Crimson Storm will return Bethany to host Arkansas-Monticello on Saturday, October 3 at 2:00 pm at the SNU Football Stadium.
