Box Score

BETHANY, Okla. —
Just a week after suffering its first loss of the season, Southern Nazarene nearly did everything right in a 77-45 win over Trevecca Nazarene.

Talk about responding.

The Crimson Storm (4-1) shot 43.5 percent (27-62) from the field and 40 percent (6-15) from 3-point range and won ever facet of the game against the Trojans (2-3). SNU scored 26 points off 26 turnovers, posted 18 second chances points while giving up just two and out rebounded TNU 48-33.

Southern Nazarene even pulled off a 32-point victory over a team that received votes in the preseason poll without its two top scorers breaking double figures. Of the 13 Storm that touched the floor, 12 scored at least two points as Jon West and Horace McGloster each scored a game-high 12 points while Daniel White scored 11 off the bench. West had eight points in the second half while McGloster scored all 12 points in a five minute span early in the second half. McGloster and White each grabbed six rebounds as well.

After closing the first half on a 6-3 run to take a 34-24 lead at intermission, the Crimson Storm opened the second half with a 27-9 run to take a 61-33 lead. McGloster had zero points in the first half and gave SNU a 46-28 lead on a jumper with 14:32 left to play.

It was his stretch of 10 points in just over a minute though that brought the Storm bench to its feet.

With 10:46 to play, after a ball went out of bounds under the SNU basket, Xavier Alexander lofted an inbound pass up to McGloster who went over his defender and threw it down. On the next play, McGloster picked off a pass and raced to the other end and went for another dunk. After missing the dunk, the ball found its way to McGloster on the left side and he buried a trey. On the next TNU possession, A.J. Thomas grabbed a missed shot and raced to the other end with McGloster close behind. Thomas floated a pass right at the goal and McGloster finished the play with a slam. TNU turned the ball over on the next possession and SNU went right back to the hot hand and McGloster found himself open again for a three and lit the net up again to put SNU up 58-33.

Thomas capped the run with another trey and SNU didn't look back from that point on.

#C.J. Henry and Milos Milosevic# finished with nine points each as Milosevic tied with Alexander for a game-high seven boards. Henry also pulled in six rebounds.

The Crimson Storm got 39 of its points off the bench and outscored TNU in the paint 28-20.

SNU will now host Olivet Nazarene in the championship game of the Thanksgiving Nazarene Classic at 5 p.m.
