SNU Highlights:
Junior Season: Thomas received an NAIA All-American honorable mention and was named All-SAC second team after averaging 13.4 points and 4.1 assists a game. He started 25 of the 35 games he played. He also averaged 2.1 rebounds and 1.6 steals a game and posted a 2.1 assists-to-turnover ratio. He also shot 42.8 percent from the field and 78.8 percent from the charity stripe. Thomas scored in double figures 25 times and posted four 20-point games. He scored a career-high 27 points against Robert Morris (Ill.) in the quarterfinals of the NAIA National Tournament. He nearly had a double-double with 18 points and a career-high nine assists against Mid-America Christian. He recorded at least two assists in every game but two. He averaged 15.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists in the national tournament. Thomas drained 75 3-pointers on the year which is the eighth most in a single-season in school history.

Walters State JC Highlights:
Thomas played two years at WSJC and was a JUCO All-American third team selection as a freshman and earned Player of the Year honors in the TJCCAA Conference.

High School Highlights:
Wooddale High School (Memphis, Tenn.): Thomas was a Best of the Preps selection twice during his career, and earned all-city honors two times at Wooddale. As a senior, Thomas averaged 27 points per game, along with eight assists and four steals. As a junior, Thomas averaged 25 points per game, six assists, and two steals. During his career, Thomas was also an all-district selection for two seasons and a two-time all-region honoree. A.J. earned District MVP honors as a senior. For his career, Thomas scored 1,568 points and averaged 26.3 points per game, along with six rebounds and six assists per game.
