SHAWNEE, Okla. - Southern Nazarene's Track and Field team traveled to Shawnee to compete in the OBU Invitational.
On the men's side in the Men's 400 meters, Josh Montelongo led the way with a strong third place finish with a time of 48.64, followed by Maximus Washington in 12th at 50.35. Terrance Green also competed, placing 19th with a time of 51.11.
Daniel Ponce claimed seventh place in the Men's 1500 meters with a time of 4:09.89, while Jo'Quan Howard put on a solid performance in the 110 meter hurdles, finishing third with a time of 15.82. Korbyn Asencio and Karson Hetherington placed fourth and fifth with times of 16.95 and 17.03, and Malachi Allen placed sixth with a time of 19.59.
In the Men's 400 hurdles, Asencio finished sixth in 1:01.56, while Allen took ninth with a time of 1:04.44.
The Men's 4x100 relay squads also performed well. Team A, consisting of Zayvion Brown, Josh Montelongo, Jessiah Burris, and Maximus Washington, placed third in with a time of 42.17, while Team B, featuring Jo'Quan Howard, Terrance Green, Patrick Uzzle, and Korbyn Asencio, finished fourth with a time of 42.98.
In field events, Tyler Deisering placed first in the Men's Pole Vault, clearing a mark of 4.40m. Jessiah Burris also performed well in the Men's Triple Jump, finishing seventh with a jump of 13.12m.
Colter Bufford earned a second place finish in the Men's Javelin, throwing a mark of 64.16m, also breaking the school record and earning a NCAA Provisional while Dylan Warden placed fourth with a throw of 49.70m.
Brendan Cravens earned third in the Men's Decathlon with a total of 5,667 points.
On the women's side, Isabel Lynch placed sixth in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:58.93.
In the 100 meter hurdles, Cheyenne Gaymon finished fourth with a time of 16.20.
Remi Murray had a strong performance in the Women's Pole Vault, placing second with a mark of 3.10m.
In the throws, Eve Brennan finished fifth in the Women's Shot Put with a throw of 12.31m. She also placed third in the Discus with a throw of 39.84m and third in the Hammer with a mark of 45.72m. Sarah Herring also competed in the discus, earning ninth with a throw of 36.07m.
The highlight of the day came in the Women's Heptathlon, where Abriel Thrash dominated the competition, taking first place with a total of 4,996 points. Thrash also broke the school long jump record with a mark of 5.83m.

The Storm will travel to Norman, Oklahoma to compete in the John Jacobs Invitational hosted by the University of Oklahoma on Friday, April 4.
