McAlexander Earns Second Team All-American at NCAA Indoor Championships

Micky McAlexander places 11th in pentathlon and wins the shot put at the national meet in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Southern Nazarene's Micky McAlexander represented the Crimson Storm on the national stage this weekend, competing in the pentathlon at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships and earning Second Team All-America honors.

McAlexander finished 11th overall in the pentathlon with 3,648 points, turning in a strong all-around performance against the top athletes in Division II.

She highlighted her day in the shot put, winning the event with a throw of 14.13 meters (46' 4.25") to earn a first-place finish in the field. McAlexander also delivered a standout performance in the high jump, clearing 1.62 meters (5' 3.75") to place fifth while recording a new personal record in the event.

On the track, McAlexander ran 9.52 in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing 15th, and later posted a time of 2:26.57 in the 800 meters to place ninth. She also competed in the long jump, recording a mark of 4.95 meters (16' 3") to finish 15th.

With her performance and total of 3,648 points, McAlexander secured Second Team All-America recognition at the national meet, marking an impressive finish for the junior.
