Crimson Storm Shine in Bison Multi

Thrash takes 2nd in heptathlon, McAlexander finishes 5th as SNU competes at Harding University

SEARCY, Ark. - The Crimson Storm traveled to Searcy, Arkansas to compete in the Bison Multi hosted by Harding University, turning in strong performances in the multi-events with standout marks across both heptathlon competitions.

Abriel Thrash led the way with a 2nd-place finish in the heptathlon, finishing with a total of 5,156 points after a consistent weekend of performances across all seven events. In the process, she also broke the school record in the 200 meter dash, continuing to raise the bar for the program.

Thrash opened strong on day one and carried that momentum through the meet, highlighted by that record breaking performance in the 200 meter dash, where she placed 1st. She also picked up key points in the 800 meters with a time of 2:27.26 for 5th, along with a 2nd-place finish in the shot put at 12.55 meters (41' 2.25").

In the jumps, she cleared 1.63 meters (5' 4.25") in the high jump for 2nd and went 5.31 meters (17' 5.25") in the long jump for 6th. In the javelin, Thrash delivered one of her best performances of the weekend, winning the event with a throw of 37.74 meters (123' 10"). She also added a 15.60 in the 100-meter hurdles to round out her multi-event total.

Micky McAlexander also put together a solid performance in the heptathlon, finishing 5th overall with 4,838 points while contributing key points in multiple events.

McAlexander's strongest showing came in the shot put, where she took 1st place with a throw of 14.01 meters (45' 11.75"). She also cleared 1.57 meters (5' 1.75") in the high jump for 5th and ran 15.47 in the 100-meter hurdles to place 9th.

On the track, she posted a 27.85 in the 200 meters, finishing 12th in the event as she worked through a competitive multi-event field.

The Crimson Storm will travel to Pittsburg, Kansas to compete in the Pitt State Tune-Up hosted by Pittsburg State on Saturday, April 18.
