Storm Split Doubleheader with Southeastern

SNU wins game one but drops the series after a tough 11-10 loss in the finale against Southeastern

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 DURANT, Okla. - The Crimson Storm faced Southeastern Oklahoma State in a doubleheader on Saturday to finish their three game series. After losing Friday's opener, Southern Nazarene bounced back with a win in game two on Saturday before coming up just short in game three.

Game 1
The Crimson Storm (6-12, 2-7 GAC) came out strong to kick off the first game of the doubleheader, jumping on the board early with a pair of runs in the first inning. Antonio Sabala got things rolling with a single up the middle before Brady Benedict joined the action with a bunt single. With the bases loaded, an error from Southeastern (7-10, 6-3 GAC) brought home Sabala and Benedict, giving SNU a 2-0 lead.

Sabala kept things going in the second inning with a bunt single to reach base. Benedict's sacrifice bunt moved him over, and Weston Hicks followed up with a single through the left side, making it 3-0.

SNU added to their advantage in the fifth inning when Carson Kinnaird launched a home run to left field, pushing the lead to 4-0. Southeastern, however, responded in the bottom of the inning, cutting the deficit to 4-2.

The Crimson Storm put up six runs in the sixth inning to take control of the game. Doubles from Hicks and Tucker LeMay led the way, with several Southern Nazarene hitters contributing key at bats. Southeastern Oklahoma State scored a few late runs, but the Crimson Storm secured the win, 11-6 over the Savage Storm.

Game 2

The series finale became a back and forth  battle, with both teams exchanging runs. Southeastern struck first with two runs in the bottom of the second inning to take a 2-0 lead.

The Crimson Storm quickly responded in the top of the third with LeMay walking, followed by a series of walks that loaded the bases. Weston Hicks then drew a bases loaded walk to score a run and Jaxon Gless came through with a two-run double. A throwing error by Southeastern allowed another run to score and the Storm went ahead 4-2.

However, Southeastern took the lead back in the bottom of the fourth, scoring three runs off of three hits to make it 5-4. In the top of the fifth, Aiden McCullough walked, followed by a pair of walks from Antonio Sabala and Brady Benedict

Hicks singled up the middle for an RBI and Gless delivered again with a two run double, putting the Storm back on top 7-5.
SNU extended their lead in the top of the sixth as Sabala was hit by a pitch, and Benedict singled to right. Hicks launched a three run homer to left field, giving the Storm a 10-5 lead.

Southeastern responded in the bottom of the sixth, scoring six runs off of five hits to take an 11-10 lead. SNU put up a strong fight in the top of the seventh, but couldn't regain the lead and Southeastern held on for the win.
