Crimson Storm Rally Falls Just Short in Season Finale

Southern Nazarene storms back from double-digit deficit before late walk-off gives Oklahoma Baptist series sweep

SHAWNEE, Okla. - Southern Nazarene wrapped up its 2026 season Saturday afternoon, falling 15-14 to Oklahoma Baptist as the Bison completed the series sweep of the Crimson Storm.

Oklahoma Baptist (22-24, 15-18 GAC) jumped out early, plating three runs in the second before erupting for a nine-run third inning to take a commanding 12-2 lead.

Bay delivered a two-run double, Kane Springer followed with a two-run single, and Bodine added an RBI double as SNU stormed back to take a 13-12 lead.

After a quiet eighth inning, SNU added an insurance run in the ninth when Braden Pingel drove in Springer with an RBI single to extend the lead to 14-12.

Oklahoma Baptist had the final answer in the bottom of the ninth. With two outs, the Bison strung together a rally, tying the game on a two-run single before delivering the walk-off hit to secure the 15-14 victory.
