Storm Compete in JD Martin Invitational

SNU Track and Field post strong performances

NORMAN, Okla. - The Southern Nazarene University Track and Field team made the short trip to Norman on Friday morning to compete in the JD Martin Invitational, marking their sixth meet of the season.

In the men's 200 meter open, Josh Montelongo finished fifth with a time of 23.4, followed closely by Zayvion Brown, who placed sixth with a time of 23.45. Jo'Quan Howard finished 15th with a time of 24.03.

In the men's 400 meter open, Montelongo placed third with a time of 52.13, while Darius Petties finished 13th with a time of 54.75.

The men's 800 meter open saw several strong performances from the Crimson Storm. Austin Miller claimed second place with a time of 2:00.96, followed by Andres Young in third place with a time of 2:01.82. Keith Howerton finished fourth with a time of 2:01.93, and Riley Patton came in fifth with a time of 2:02.97. Raymon Sanabria rounded out the group with an eighth place finish and a time of 2:06.24.

In the men's mile invite, Daniel Ponce placed third with a time of 4:29.86, and William Ramirez took fourth with a time of 4:35.54.

In the men's mile open, Ryan Clements finished seventh with a time of 4:59.30, followed by Jaden Humphrey in eighth place with a time of 4:59.34, and Caden Castrop in 10th place with a time of 5:05.66.

In the men's 3000 meter open, William Ramirez claimed third place with a time of 9:11.72, with Jacob Humphrey finishing 13th in 10:36.38.

In the men's 60 meter hurdles finals, Karson Hetherington came in eighth place with a time of 9.34, while Jo'Quan Howard placed ninth with a time of 9.40.

In the men's pole vault, Tyler Deisering took seventh place with a mark of 4.00.

In the men's long jump, Patrick Uzzle placed fifth with a leap of 6.58, and Jo'Quan Howard finished 14th with a mark of 5.54.

On the women's side in the women's 200 meter open, Cheyenne Gaymon placed 25th with a time of 29.41 she also placed 7th in the women's 60 hurdles preliminaries.

In the women's 400 meter open, Jasmine Brown placed 11th with a time of 1:05.40, while Chloe Brumage finished 20th with a time of 1:07.25.

Abbey King placed 14th in the women's 800 meter open with a time of 2:47.17.

Remi Murray placed 7th in the pole vault with a mark of 3.30m.

The Crimson Storm will head to Manhattan, Kansas, for the Steve Miller Invitational on Friday, February 7.
