SNU Women's Basketball adds Jenni Holbrook to coaching staff

BETHANY, Okla.—Southern Nazarene Athletics and SNU Women's Basketball Head Coach, Trent May, are proud to announce Jenni Holbrook as a new Assistant Coach for Women's Basketball.

"We are super fortunate to have Coach Holbrook in our program" said May. "Her success with her student athletes, matched with her competitiveness as a coach, makes this a big win for us. Success breeds success and we are looking forward to continuing our winning ways."

Holbrook comes to SNU from Jones High School, where she has spent 8 years as the Head Coach and had an abundance of success. She amassed a 172-38 record, including 9-1 in the state tournament. She led the Longhorns to their first state tournament appearance in school history in 2020, although the tournament was canceled due to covid.

Coach Holbrook continued to build the program the following years, winning three straight 3A state championships from 2021-2023. This past season, Holbrook led Jones to another state semi-finals appearance.

In 2022, Holbrook was named the Oklahoma Coaches Association Coach of the Year. In 2021, she was named both the Oklahoma Girls Basketball Association Coach of the Year and National Federation of High School Coach of the Year. She is a 4 time OGCBA District Coach of the Year and named an OCA All-State Coach in 2023. She is also a 6 time OCA Region Coach of the Year and OGBCA All State Coach in 2018. She has served on both the OGCBA and OCA boards for the last 7 years.

"I am excited to be taking this next step in my coaching career under Coach May's leadership and at Southern Nazarene University," said Holbrook. "I am looking forward to building relationships with the players and staff so that we can work together towards being the very best that we can be."

Coach Holbrook joins an SNU program who has taken tremendous strides over the past couple of seasons. They are coming off their most successful season in the DII era, winning the GAC regular season championship for the second straight year, and earning the number one overall seed in the Central Region Tournament. This led to hosting the Central Region tournament and earning their first NCAA tournament win before falling in the Regional Championship game to eventual National Champion, Minnesota State-Mankato.

Holbrook is a native of Midwest City and currently resides in Choctaw. She played basketball and graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University. She is married to her husband Eli and has three children; Joeli, Brendan, and Jentry.
