Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — To close out the Henderson series, Southern Nazarene could not spark the offense, falling 14-3 (run-rule) to a hot-hitting Reddies (26-17, 17-10 GAC) squad. The Storm (14-28, 6-21 GAC) were outplayed at the plate, only putting up five hits to Henderson State's 13.
Through the first two innings, the Reddies built a 3-0 lead over the Storm from a ground out, an SNU throwing error, and a homerun.
The Storm came within a single run in the third inning when Dax Edmonds' single and Cole Embrey's triple plated two baserunners. The Reddies were able to make it a two-run game in the bottom third with an RBI-single.
O'Shea Whiteside lessened the gap in the fourth with his single through the right side that gave Jonathan Crist the trip home. The Reddies continued to answer at the plate, firing a triple and single that brought in two RBIs and a 6-3 lead heading into the fifth inning.
The Storm were seeing some action at the plate, but a few ground outs kept them from sending any to the bases. The Reddies took advantage, tacking on four runs in the fifth to explode to a 10-3 lead.
SNU kept the bats quiet in the last few innings while the Reddies' were awakened at the plate. End the series with a sweep, the Reddies called the game in seven innings, putting up a walk-off, three-RBI home run to win it 14-3.
