Box Score LUBBOCK, Texas. — Lubbock Christian jumped out to an early 5-2 and Southern Nazarene was unable to complete a comeback as the Chaparrals held on for the 6-4 win.
The Crimson Storm (16-32) put two runs on the board in the top of the first inning when
Chance San Miguel singled to right field to score
Dillon Feland and
Ryan Brosnan to give SNU a 2-0 lead.
Lubbock Christian (36-10) then took its first lead of the game in the bottom of the first inning scoring four runs to make it 5-2. The Chaparrals then scored another run in the bottom of the second to make it 5-2.
SNU made it 5-3 when
Ryan Brosnan doubled to left center to score
Riley Morrow before the Chaparrals scored a run in the bottom of the eighth to make it 6-3. The Storm scored one more run in the top of the ninth when Brosnan singled to the shortstop to score
Austin Samulowitz but the Chaparrals held on for the win.
Thomas Schellhardt (5-8) took the loss for the Crimson Storm giving up five runs and nine hits in six innings pitched.
San Miguel went 2-for-3 with two RBIs while Brosnan went 2-for-4 with two RBIs
and a run scored.
This was the last game of the season for Southern Nazarene.
