Box Score MAGNOLIA, Ark. — Southern Nazarene led 11th ranked Southern Arkansas 4-3 in the sixth inning before the Muleriders scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh and another run in the bottom of the eight to defeat the Crimson Storm 6-3.
The Muleriders (31-13, 16-9 GAC) jumped out to an early 3-0 lead through the first two innings scoring one run in the bottom of the first and two runs in the bottom of the second. SNU (15-28, 4-24 GAC) tied the game at 3-3 in the top of the fifth inning. The Storm scored their first run of the game when Anthony Wiggins Jr., singled to center field to score
Michael Lowe to make it 3-1. SNU made it 3-3 when
Ryan O'Donnell hit a double down the left field line to score Wiggins Jr., and
Damian Santamaria.
The Storm took a 4-3 lead in the top of the sixth inning when Santamaria hit a sacrifice fly to center field to score
Chance San Miguel before the Muleriders responded with three unanswered runs and held on for the victory.
Tyler Wilson (2-5) pitched 6.1 innings for the Storm giving up seven hits and five runs. Lowe went 2-for-3 with a run scored.
SNU will now play a doubleheader against Southern Arkansas Saturday at 12 p.m.
