Box Score 2 MOORE, Okla. — Southern Nazarene scored a combined 25 runs in the doubleheader against Hillsdale Freewill Baptist as the Crimson Storm earned two non-conference wins Tuesday.
In the first game the Storm (14-20) got the bats going early scoring three runs in the top of the second inning.
Caleb Teel hit a double to left field to score
Kyle Fultz as he scored the first run of the game. Shortly after,
Ryan O'Donnell hit a sacrifice fly to right field as Danny Martinez and Teel found their way to the plate to give SNU a 3-0 lead. The Storm added two more runs in the fifth inning to extend its lead to 5-0 and pulled away from there. SNU scored a run in the fifth and sixth innings and finished off the seventh with a pair of runs to give them a 9-0 cushion. The Storm then got three outs to end the game without giving up a run.
Mason Pinion (3-0) earned the win for the Storm giving up five hits and no runs in seven innings pitched.
Teel went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run while Fultz went 1-for-2 with two runs scored.
Damian Santamaria had two RBIs and
Chance San Miguel had one.
In the nightcap, the Storm put up eight runs in the first inning and five in the second inning to jump out to an early 13-0 lead. SNU put up two more runs in the top of the fourth and one more in the top of the fifth to score its final runs of the game and pull away for good.
Anthony Wiggins Jr., (1-2) picked up the win for SNU giving up three hits and no runs in six innings pitched.
Fultz went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and
Scott Stanley went 3-for-3 with a run scored.
Austin Samulowitz had two RBIs and a run scored while
Chance San Miguel went 2-for-2 with five RBIs and two runs scored.
SNU will now get back to Great American Conference play as they travel to Ouachita Baptist for a game, Friday, at 3 p.m.
