Box Score BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene took on former Sooner Athletic Conference opponent Oklahoma City Tuesday afternoon as the Stars knocked off the Crimson Storm 8-6.

Oklahoma City scored two runs in the top of the second inning to jump out to a 2-0 lead before SNU got on the scoreboard. In the bottom of the second inning
Chance San Miguel hit a double down the first base line to score
Kyle Fultz to make the score 2-1.

The Stars then added another run in the top of the third inning to extend their lead to 3-1.

SNU found a way to cut the lead to 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth inning when
Damian Santamaria hit a double to the right side to score San Miguel. Shortly after, the Storm tied the game at 3-3 when
Riley Morrow hit a double to center field to score Santamaria. SNU took its first lead of the game when
Austin Samulowitz hit a double to center field to score Morrow and Teel giving SNU the lead at 5-3 through four innings. Â

The Stars though, put up two more runs in the top of the fifth inning to tie the game at 5-5 and took back the lead at 7-5 with a pair of home runs in the top of the sixth.

SNU cut the Stars lead to 7-6 in the bottom of the sixth when
Caleb Teel hit a single through the right side to score O'Donnell.

OCU found a way to score another run in the top of the eighth inning off of a wild pitch and went back up by two 8-6. The Stars never allowed the Storm to score again and held on for the win.

Teel went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored while Samulowitz had two RBIs.

Anthony Wiggins Jr., (1-1) took the loss for SNU giving up eight hits and eight runs in seven innings pitched.

SNU will now go to East Central for a Great American Conference game, Friday, at 2 p.m.Â
