Southeastern Out Runs SNU

Southern Nazarene drops series opener to Savage Storm

Saquilon went 3-for-4 in the loss against Southeastern OSU.
Box Score DURANT, Okla. — Chance San Miguel extended his hitting streak to 14 straight games as he recorded one hit for Southern Nazarene in a 6-4 loss to Southeastern Oklahoma State.
 
The Crimson Storm (6-14, 3-10 GAC) got six hits from the middle of its lineup and didn't commit an error, but left eight on base in the loss to SOSU.
 
The Savage Storm struck first by scoring two in the bottom of the first and added another in the third to lead 3-0. The Crimson Storm answered in the top of the fifth when Luis Hernandez laced a double down the left field line that scored Nate Saquilon and Jacob Inbody as SNU cut it to 3-2. SNU tied it in the top of the sixth when Daniel Marinez hit a solo shot to left.
 
Southeastern broke the tie in the bottom of the seventh with two runs and added another insurance run in the eight to lead 6-3. The Storm got one run back when Saquilon doubled down the right field line to score Riley Morrow, but Southeastern shut the door on a come back.
 
Saquilon led the way for the Storm as he went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored and was one of six SNU players to get a hit. Matt Berry (1-6) took the loss after the senior gave up five runs on eight hits in seven innings of work.
 
Southern Nazarene and Southeastern Oklahoma State will conclude the series Saturday with a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
