OKLAHOMA CITY — Mid-America Christian's Jake Magness ripped a one-out home run in the bottom of the 10
th as MACU walked off with a 3-2 win over Southern Nazarene.
The Crimson Storm (6-13) got a solid start on the hill from
Thomas Schellhardt who gave up just two runs on three hits in 5.2 innings of work. He then turned it over to
Matt Berry for the next 2.1 innings and the senior allowed just two hits and no runs.
Tim Coleman (1-4) had given up just one hit in 1.1 innings of work before giving up the game-winning home run.
Southern Nazarene struck first in the top of the second when
Zach Friesen ripped a double to right center to score
Nate Saquilon. MACU answered through in the bottom of the second with two to lead 2-1. The Storm got another run back when
Jacob Inbody and
Austin Samulowitz worked a double steal to tie it in the top of the fifth. Neither team scored in the next four innings, and SNU had just two base runners in that stretch, before Magness' walk-off in the 10
th.
The Crimson Storm now head to Southeastern Oklahoma State for a 3-game set, Friday and Saturday, in GAC competition.
