Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — The records just keep falling for
Aminata Fall. It just happens to be the same record as the sophomore pulled in a school single-game record 24 rebounds and added 16 points in a 65-53 win at Henderson State.
Fall has twice had 20 rebounds on two different occasions before grabbing 21 boards just a couple of weeks ago. The sophomore has the top four rebounding games all in the 2012-13 season.
Oumoul Thiam, who has also been virtually unstoppable this year, showed again Thursday why she is one of the best players in the GAC, scoring 24 points on 8-of-16 shooting to lead the way for the Crimson Storm (11-9, 8-6 GAC). Thiam continued her blazing consistency from the free-throw line, going 7-for-8 at the charity stripe.
Kristin Milster also added 10 points and five rebounds and
Samantha O'Shields added seven points for the Storm.
The Storm anchored upon another solid night from the free-throw line shooting 76 percent, hitting 10-for-13 from the charity stripe. SNU was able to hold the Lady Reddies (10-10, 5-9 GAC) to just 30.2 percent from the field on 16-for-53 shooting and gave up just one 3-pointer the entire night.
SNU scored 19 points off 18 HSU turnovers. The Storm never trailed and led by as much as 19 at 29-10 in the first half, but watched HSU use a 12-3 run to cut it 32-22 at the half. The second half the Storm had a relatively comfortable margin for the most part and stretched their lead to 14 points at the 14:10 mark. The Reddies made a fierce run, cutting the Storm's lead to four points with 5:21 left. Fall then hit a jump shot with 4:23 remaining to spark a 14-7 run for the Storm to close the game.
The Storm will be on the road again in their next contest as they get set for another GAC contest in a rematch against Quachita Baptist, Saturday at 2 p.m., in Arkadelphia.
