Southern Nazarene move to 5-0 in the GAC with a 3-0 win over Henderson State

Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — The streak moved to five straight for Southern Nazarene and the conference record remains unblemished as SNU swept Henderson State Saturday 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-11).
 
The Crimson Storm (12-5, 5-0 GAC) didn't waste much time in taking care of the Lady Reddies (1-12, 0-4 GAC) as SNU held HSU to a -.019 (25-27-103) clip.
 
Eight different players notched kills as Taylor Jacobs led the way with eight kill while Kira Roberts had seven and Jamie Hope had six. Jacobs and Hope also had three blocks each. Kaylee Piatt and Taylor Chase split setting duties as Piatt had 19 assists while Chase had 12. Piatt also had seven digs. Abbey Bell posted a match-high 12 digs.
 
The Storm opened the match with a 16-5 run and cruised from there to lead 1-0. Piatt had nine assists in the first set as five different players recorded kills. SNU hit .258 (10-2-31) in the set and had four blocks. There were nine ties and five lead changes in the second set, but the Storm broke open the set midway through the set. Emily Dick sparked a 13-7 run to end the set that was capped with a Roberts kill as SNU took a 2-0 lead.
 
It was all SNU in the final set as well as the storm hit .455 (12-2-22) and put it away early. Chase had 10 assists in the final set alone.
 
The Crimson Storm now step away from GAC play to host Midwestern State, Tuesday, for a 7 p.m. contest.
