Volleyball Earns Road Win Over SAU

The Crimson Storm sweep the Muleriders picking up their fourth straight GAC win

MAGNOLIA, Ark. — Southern Nazarene kept rolling on the road Friday afternoon, putting on quite the all around performance to sweep Southern Arkansas in three sets.

Southern Nazarene (14-8, 6-3 GAC) had to battle to take the opener, after a 4-0 run put the Muleriders ahead, 18-16. It was back and forth from there but the Storm used a 19-kill effort on .386 hitting to edge Southern Arkansas (6-15, 1-8 GAC) 31-29.

The second set saw the Crimson Storm create separation as they took the lead 16-11. SAU threatened late, pushing the SNU lead to 23-20, but back to back Mulerider errors sealed the set win, 25-20.

The third set belonged to Southern Nazarene. The two squads traded points, but a 7-1 run gave SNU the push they needed to finish things off. The Crimson Storm posted 14 kills to close out the frame 25-21 and take the 3-0 victory.
