Box Score BETHANY, Okla. — Josh Thomas scored the game-tying goal in the 89
th minute sending the contest into overtime, but Upper Iowa came away with the 3-2 victory over Southern Nazarene.

The Crimson Storm (2-10, 1-3 MIAA) Â came out attacking on the offensive side of the ball taking four shots in the first 21 minutes. In the 22
nd minute,
Mario Caballeros took a rebound off of a miss by
Blake Rodgers and put it in the goal to give SNU a 1-0 lead. The Storm maintained the lead throughout the first half until the 39
th minute, Leandro Pena crossed a pass to Andres Cuesta and he headed it in the goal to tie the game 1-1 going into half.

Upper Iowa (7-4-1, 3-1-1 MIAA) Â notched 12 first half shots and Southern Nazarene took seven shots.
Four of the first five shots for SNU were on goal.

The second half was a defensive battle all the way up until the 83rd minute, Pena scored off of a free kick for the Peacocks and the Storm trailed 2-1. The Storm looked like they were running out of luck, but in the 89
th minute Rodgers assisted
Josh Thomas for a goal that tied the game 2-2 and ultimately sent the match into overtime.

Upper Iowa took 16 shots in the second half and SNU took just six.

In the eight minute of overtime, Pena was awarded another penalty kick and he converted. Pena scored the game-winning goal and the Peacocks won the game 3-2.

Upper Iowa took 30 shots and 11 were on frame. The Crimson Storm attempted 14 shots and seven were on goal.
Tyler Wythe recorded ten saves for the Storm.
