Crimson Storm Drop Road Match to No. 18 Rogers State

SNU battles early but falls 4-0 to the Hillcats on Wednesday night in Claremore

CLAREMORE, Okla. - Southern Nazarene men's soccer traveled to Claremore on Wednesday evening to take on No. 18 Rogers State but came up short, falling 4-0 to the Hillcats.

In the first half, the Crimson Storm (5-7-3, 3-5-2 GAC) got off to an active start as Lawm Sangzuala put a shot on goal early, but it was saved by Rogers State (10-2-4, 6-2-2 MIAA) keeper Jaxon Kendall. Aimar Aramendia came up with a big stop moments later to deny the Hillcats first chance.

Tiago Moreira and Jordy Vasquez both had shots just wide as SNU kept the pressure on, but Rogers State broke through soon after to take a 1-0 lead. Aramendia added another save on a strong strike from Alex Laing, while Sangzuala and Adnan Boulaghmal both had looks before halftime as the Crimson Storm went into the break trailing 1-0.

In the second half, Francisco Chong and Imran Khan each fired attempts that went high as the Storm looked for the equalizer, but RSU doubled their lead to make it 2-0. Moreira nearly got one back with a shot on frame, but Kendall was there again for the save. The Hillcats added two more goals to stretch the lead to 4-0. Boulaghmal and Mourad Siaka each tested the defense late, but the Crimson Storm couldn't find the net, falling 4-0 on the road.
