A Streaking Sweep

Southern Nazarene is on its first three-game streak of the year

Thiam averaged 23 points over two GAC games in the week.
Box Score MAGNOLIA, Ark. — Southern Nazarene is now officially on a winning streak after beating Southern Arkansas Saturday in an 86-66 route.
 
The Crimson Storm (7-7, 4-4 GAC) were tremendous on the defensive side of the ball again holding Southern Arkansas to only 34 percent shooting from the field. For the second straight game, Southern Nazarene shot above 80 percent from the free-throw line, going a season-high 25-for-30 at the charity stripe.
 
Oumoul Thiam was just two points off tying a career-high as the senior scored 32 points and added three rebounds and three assists. She shot 50 percent from the field (9-for-18), 50 percent from the three point line (4-8), and went 10-for-11 from the free throw line. It was Thiam's third 30-point game of the season. Aminata Fall notched a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds and had two steals. Annie Kassongo chipped in with 14 points and Kristin Milster pitched in nine points for the Storm. Marsha Durr also scored eight.
 
The Storm dished out 16 assists as a team and only turned the ball over 10 times while forcing the Muleriders into 15 turnovers. SNU scored 19 points off of SAU turnovers and the Storm outscored the Lady Muleriders 42-26 in the paint.
 
Southern Nazarene took an early 8-3 lead and never looked back. The Storm led just 38-33 at the half and Southern Arkansas cut to 42-41 with 17:17 in the second. SNU pushed it to 61-51 midway through the second half before the Lady Muleriders cut it to 65-58 with 7:34. Fall then sparked a 21-7 run as SNU took an 85-65 lead with 55 seconds left.
 
Southern Nazarene now looks to extend their win streak to four wins next Thursday night inside the Sawyer Center at 5:30 p.m. as they take on East Central.
