Box Score BETHANY, Okla. — The streak continues as Southern Nazarene moved to 5-0 inside the Sawyer Center this season with a 3-0 (25-11, 25-23, 25-16) win over Henderson State.
The Crimson Storm (6-9, 4-1 GAC) got another big night out of
Natalia Oliveira who had 17 kills and seven digs in the win. The senior hit .351 and had a pair of aces as well.
Ellen Martin was right behind with 11 kills and hit .450 as well.
Taylor Chase had 36 assists and six digs along with a pair of blocks and four kills. She also had two aces as well.
Emily Troup notched a team-high 11 digs while
Jamie Hope had nine along with six kills.
Emma Krottinger also had eight digs.
Nicole Greenway had a team-high four blocks as well.
The Storm hit at a .272 (47-16-114) and hit over .300 in the first and third sets. They hit .444 (16-4-27) in the opening set as they cruised from start to finish. SNU didn't waste much time getting out to a 14-3 lead in the first set and jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the match.
Henderson State jumped put to a 6-2 lead in the second set, but Southern Nazarene answered with a 9-4 run capped by a Hope kill to take an 11-10 lead. Henderson State scored four straight to lead 14-11 and led 22-18 late in the set. Martin sparked a 5-0 run with a kill and Roberts ended the run with a kill as SNU took a 23-22 lead. HSU tied it at 23 before a Roberts kill and a Chase kill gave SNU a 2-0 lead.
The Storm controlled the final set from start to finish to pick up their fourth sweep of the year.
SNU will now host Southeastern Oklahoma State, Tuesday, at 7 p.m.
