OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — A season that was expected to be a rebuilding one finished the season with a good foundation laid despite a 3-2 loss to Northwestern Oklahoma State in the final game of the Sooner Athletic Conference.
The Crimson Storm finished at .500 in the Sooner Athletic Conference and reached the SAC Tournament after missing out just a season ago. SNU knocked off three ranked teams along the way this year and nearly took Lubbock Christian, who will be playing for the SAC Tournament Title Saturday, out of commission Thursday.
The Crimson Storm may have not had much left Friday as SNU had just three hits in the loss to the Rangers.
Southern Nazarene fell behind 1-0 in the second, but answered in the bottom half of the inning on a solo shot to left by

SNU though was held hitless the rest of the way and Northwestern added two more in the sixth to take the 3-2 lead.
Zack Swart pitched the final game of his SNU career as he allowed just three runs on six hits and stuck out four. The senior went the distance, pitching all nine innings.
SNU closes out its season at 20-30 overall and knocked off three ranked teams in the process of the 2012 season.
