OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — Nate Saquilon went 1-for-2 with an run scored for Southern Nazarene as it fell 8-1 to No. 2 Oklahoma City in the first day of the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament.
Saquilon reached base three times in the game and scored the only run of the game in the bottom of the sixth on a two-out single to right by
Ryan McIntosh. The Crimson Storm (20-28) had cut the lead to 3-1 in the sixth after OCU had scored one in the first, second and fifth innings, and were still within striking distance until the Stars (42-8) unloaded in the seventh with three runs.
Ryan Gibson gave up just one run on four hits and struck out 12 in eight innings of work for OCU as he moved to 3-0 on the year.
Chris Eastham fell to 3-7 on the year after giving up five runs on nine hits.
OCU had just eight hits and three run through six innings, but pushed across five runs on eight hits in the final three innings of play.
The Crimson Storm will now get set to play No. 24 Lubbock Christian, Friday, at 2 p.m.
