Box Score

BETHANY, Okla. —
Southern Nazarene rallied to score six straight runs after falling behind 4-0 and held off a late charge in the ninth to knock off Oklahoma Christian 6-5, Thursday afternoon.

The Crimson Storm (14-19, 10-9 SAC) gave up four runs in the first, but Zach Swart settled in from there on and the bats started to come alive for SNU later in the game for the win.

Swart gave up all for runs he allowed in the first inning and five of the 11 hits OC totaled came in the first. The southpaw also struck out a season-high 10 as he moved to 3-3 on the year with his third straight win. Swart went the first seven innings before handing it over to Matt Berry who picked up his second save of the year after allowing just one run on two hits in two innings of work.

Ryan Williams and Nate Saquilon led the way at the plate as Williams went 3-for-5 with three RBIs, a run scored, and a triple. Saquilon went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs and a run scored. Ryan McIntosh and Tyler De Trinidad each went 2-for-4 as well.

After facing the 4-0 deficit in the first, SNU started to dig out of the hole in the second on an RBI single through the right side by Williams to cut it to 4-1. The Storm tied the game in the third with a Williams triple to right center that scored two before Williams scored on Saquilon's single through the right side.

The momentum stayed with SNU in the seventh and eighth as James Tunnell singled to right to score McIntosh as SNU took its first lead of the game in the seventh and then added another in the eighth on Saquilon's eighth home run of the run with his solo shot to right.

OC got within on with a one-out double and had a man in scoring position, but Berry got a strikeout and a ground out to end the game.

SNU will now play at Oklahoma Christian tomorrow at 6 p.m. and will close the three-game series at OC, Saturday, at 1 p.m.
