CLAREMORE, Okla. — James Tunnell went 3-for-4 as SNU totaled seven hits, but left nine stranded in a 6-0 shutout by Rogers State.
The Crimson Storm (16-22, 12-10 SAC) left a runner on base in seven of the nine innings as the Hillcats' (33-12, 15-10) Shawn Spainhoward and Tyler Garner combined for the shutout. Spainhoward gave up just six hits in seven innings of work while Garner went the final two and gave up just one hit.
Zack Swart moved to 3-4 on the year as he took the loss for SNU.
Four different Crimson Storm recorded a hit, but couldn't put a runner in scoring position from the sixth inning on.
RSU took a 2-0 lead in the second before scoring four unearned run in the fifth to put it away.
Southern Nazarene will now host the Hillcats Saturday for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
