BETHANY, Okla. —
Southern Nazarene notched its first doubleheader sweep of the year and scored 22 runs, defeating Mid-America Christian 15-1 and 7-1.
 
The Crimson Storm (9-15, 5-6 SAC) got a complete game in each game from its starting pitcher and drilled 23 hits on the day.
 
In the opener, John Basnight went 4-for-4 with two home runs, five RBIs and three runs scored. Riley Morrow went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored while Nate Saquilon went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Eight different players drove in a run and six had multiple hits.
 
Jake Bidelman picked up his first win of the year to move to 1-1 after he went the full seven innings and allowed just one run. He gave up just four hits and struck out a season-high 11.
 
Zach Swart (1-3) also picked up his first win of the year after he also gave up just one run in seven innings of work in the nightcap. He struck out seven and allowed just six hits.
 
Ryan Williams and John Basnight each drove in a pair of runs as Williams went 1-for-4 and Basnight went 1-for-2.
 
Southern Nazarene will close the three-game series with MACU, Saturday, with a 1 p.m. single game.
