Box Score BETHANY, Okla. — Nicole Greenway tied a career-high with 13 kills in a 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-21) win over Arkansas-Monticello Saturday afternoon.
The senior hit .455 (13-3-22) for the Crimson Storm (10-18, 6-5 GAC) who hit .310 as a team. Greenway also had three blocks and four digs.
Kira Roberts led the way with 14 kills while
Ellen Martin had 12 kills to go with her 15 digs.
Taylor Chase had 47 assists, marking a career-high for a 3-set match. The freshman also had pair of aces and six digs.
Natalia Oliveira had 15 and five kills while
Jamie Hope had a match-high 17 digs.
The Crimson Storm ripped a .323 clip (14-4-31) in the opening set as
Nicole Greenway had five of the 14 kills and hit 1.000 in the set. Southern Nazarene scored the first nine points of the set behind the serve of Oliveira and never led by less than six the rest of the set. Greenway matched her first set with another five kills in the second set and still had just one error over the first two sets.
The Crimson Storm jumped out to a 10-1 lead to open the second set before Monticello answered with a 6-1 run to make it 11-7 and eventually closed it to 18-15 before a Greenway kill sparked a 7-2 run to end the set.
Southern Nazarene never trailed in the final set, but didn't begin to break away until late in the set with three straight to lead 19-13 and held the Cotton Blossoms off form there.
The Crimson Storm now hit the road for three straight with Central Oklahoma up first, Tuesday, at 7 p.m.
