BRANSON, Mo. — Southern Nazarene picked up its fourth and fifth straight wins as SNU took down McPherson (Kan.), 3-0 (25-19, 28-26, 25-17), and Midland (Neb.), 3-1 (20-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-21), to close out the C of O Mazzio's Classic.
The Crimson Storm (7-1) got a big day out of
Natalia Oliveira who ripped 15 kills in the opener and notched a double-double with 18 kills and 12 digs in the nightcap.
Ellen Martin was right with her with 10 kills in the opener and had a double-double against Midland with 13 kill and 12 digs.
Against McPherson, Oliveira hit .394 (15-2-33) with six digs.
Kaylee Piatt had 33 assists and nearly had a double-double with nine digs. She also had five kills and a solo block.
Emily Troup served four aces and had 11 digs while
KateLyn Biddy had 12 digs. SNU as a team had six blocks.
Against Midland, Piatt led the way with 40 assists and was again just short of a double-double with nine digs. Biddy tied her career-high with 20 digs while
Taylor Jacobs had three blocks. The Storm as a team had seven blocks.
SNU will now get set to host East Central, Tuesday, at 7 p.m.
