Crimson Storm's Season Comes to a Close in Durant

A five-set thriller goes in favor of Southeastern putting an end to SNU's 2025 season

DURANT, Okla. — Southern Nazarene brought their best on Thursday evening, but a hard fought 3–2 loss to Southeastern Oklahoma State on the road brought the Crimson Storm's season to an end.

The Crimson Storm (10–18, 5–11 GAC) pushed the Savage Storm (10–18, 5–11 GAC) to the brink, trading momentum throughout the five-set thriller before ultimately falling by scores of 23-25, 23-25, 25-18, 26-24, and 10-15. The loss eliminates SNU from contention for the Great American Conference Tournament.

SNU opened strong in the first two sets, going point-for-point with Southeastern behind steady attacking from Kate Wright and Isabella Labrada. Both frames came down to the wire, but late pushes from SE allowed the hosts to slip ahead and take a 2–0 match lead.

Refusing to go quietly, the Crimson Storm roared back in Set 3. SNU hit .412 in the frame—its best offensive set of the night—as Wright powered the attack and Molly Langford added key touches at the net. The Storm kept rolling in Set 4, overcoming several lead changes before a late surge sealed a 26–24 win and forced a decisive fifth.

Southern Nazarene grabbed early momentum in the final set, but couldn't hold on as SE edged out the Storm 15–10 to close the match.

Kate Wright capped her season with a career night, posting a career-high 29 kills along with 17 digs for a massive double-double. Brelee Mauldin and Emma Grace Moddelmog each notched double-doubles as well, finishing with 27 assists apiece while adding 19 and 12 digs, respectively.

Megan Branson anchored the back row once again, collecting a career-high 26 digs, while Labrada and Georgia Byers combined for 19 kills to round out the offensive production.

As the 2025 season concludes, Southern Nazarene now looks ahead to building toward 2026.
