SHAWNEE, Okla. — Ryon Butts went 2-for-3 with a run scored and drove in both of Southern Nazarene's runs with a home run in the top of the first, but St. Gregory's still pulled out an 8-2 win.
The Crimson Storm (12-14, 5-12 SAC) jumped out early on SGU, but the Cavaliers responded with five runs in the bottom half of the first and added a run in each of the fourth, sixth and seventh innings to pull off the win.
Jake Bidelman (1-5) went the distance for the Storm and allowed seven earned runs on 10 hits and struck out four. Trevor Nelson picked up the win for SGU as he went the first eight innings before handing it over to Jake Merrit for the final inning.
Southern Nazarene will now host St. Gregory's, Saturday, for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
