Storm Stumbled in Series Opener

OBU takes game one with a 10-1 win at Feland Field

BETHANY, Okla. - Southern Nazarene kicked off their final series of the season on Friday afternoon, hosting Oklahoma Baptist at Feland Field. The Bison came out swinging and took game one with a 10-1 win over the Storm.

Oklahoma Baptist (21-23, 13-18 GAC) got on the board early, scoring three runs in the top of the first to take a quick lead. Things stayed quiet for a bit after that, with neither team doing much in the second or third inning.

Southern Nazarene (9-39, 3-29 GAC) finally answered in the bottom of the fourth when Chase Hudson doubled to left to bring Weston Hicks home, cutting it to 3-1.

That was all the Storm would get, though. The Bison blew things open in the sixth with four runs, before adding another in the seventh, and then tacked on two more in the ninth to run away with the series opener, 10-1.

SNU will try to bounce back in the doubleheader to close out the season.
