LUBBOCK, Texas — Ryon Butts went 3-for-7 with two home runs, three RBIs and three runs scored for Southern Nazarene as No. 5 Lubbock Christian swept a doubleheader away from SNU, 11-6 and 6-5. 
 
The Crimson Storm (2-6, 0-3 SAC) jumped on Lubbock quickly in the opening game scoring three runs in the first inning. Ryan Williams doubled to left to score Derek Glenn before Butts cleared the bases with a two-run shot down the left field line. 
 
The Chaps though answered with three runs in the bottom of the first and took a 6-3 lead in the third with three more. SNU cut the lead to 6-5 in the top of the fourth with an Austin Samulowitz double down the left field line and an Alex Hill groundout, but LCU scored three more runs in the bottom half of the inning to lead 9-5. 
 
The Storm got one back on a solo shot to left center by Butts, but the Chaps put it away with two more in the fifth and shut SNU out the rest of the way.
 
Jake Bidelman (0-1) took the loss after allowing eight earned runs on seven this in 4.2 innings of work. Chris Eastham came on in relief to throw the final 1.1 innings.  
 
Just like the first game, SNU got on the board first in the second game as well. Both runs were scored on a Derek Johnson double to right that drove home Butts and Chase Glaum. 
 
LCU though had an answer for every SNU run. The Chaps scored three runs in the bottom of the second and added two in the third to take a 5-2 lead. Lubbock went up 6-1 in the fourth before SNU began to work its way back into the game. 
 
The Storm cut the lead to 6-3 on an Adam Bies single to left that scored James Tunnell. The Storm scored two more in the seventh on a Hill single through the right side before Glenn hit into a double play that scored Samulowitz. LCU though struck out Tunnell for the last out of the game. 
 
Johnson went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs while Glaum went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored.
 
Jake Mitcheltree (1-2) took the loss after going the full six innings. He allowed six runs on 11 hits and struck out four. 
 
The three-game series with the Chaps comes to a close tomorrow with a single game at 1 p.m.
