Box Score

BETHANY, Okla. — Derek Glenn went 2-for-2 with a pair of RBIs and a run scored as Southern Nazarene fell to No. 7 Oklahoma City, 15-4.

The Crimson Storm (0-1, 0-1 SAC) had not had a chance to play in the previous two weeks because of weather, so the season opener also served as the Sooner Athletic Conference opener.

The Stars (2-2, 1-0 SAC) pounded out 15 hits, scoring nine runs in the first two innings. OCU took a 4-0 lead in the top of the first on a two-out grand slam after it looked like SNU might get out of the inning. The Storm had two outs with runners at second and third before walking the bases loaded. The Stars' Chad Carman then belted one to left center to take the 4-0 lead. OCU added five more in the second, three of which were unearned, as the Stars took a 9-0 lead.

SNU got on the board in the second when Glenn lofted a two-out single to right to score Austin Samulowitz, who ran for Ryon Butts. After OCU made it 11-1 with a pair of runs in the third, the Storm cut it to 11-4 with three more runs in the fifth. Glenn drove in his second run of the game with a double to left center, scoring Alex Hill before Derek Johnson drove home Glenn and James Tunnell with a single to center.

OCU though put the game away with four more runs in the top of the seventh and shut SNU out in the bottom half to score the run rule.

Jake Mitcheltree (0-1) took the loss for SNU after giving up eight earned runs on eight hits and struck out two in three innings of work. Jake Bidelman, Chris Eastham, Chris Hyndman and Chase Glaum all took the hill for SNU.

The Crimson Storm now get set for a Saturday doubleheader at Hillsdale where they will play No. 19 York (Neb.) at 12:30 before playing Hillsdale at 2:30 p.m. in Moore.
