Box Score BETHANY, Okla. — Four of No. 15 Southern Nazarene's five starters all finished in double figures as SNU scored a 75-58 win over Mobile (Ala.) in it's first game of the Crimson Storm Classic.
The Crimson Storm (7-3) got a game-high 19 points from
Oumoul Thiam who went 8-for-14 from the field with a pair of 3-pointers.
Abbey Marra notched her third double-double of the year while
Logan Martin had her first double-double of the season. Marra put up 16 points and pulled down 12 rebounds while going 8-for-14 from the field. Martin notched 13 points and tied a season-high with 11 assists and added seven rebounds. She was just one assist short of tying her career-high.
Sharmeda Johnson also had 14 points, hitting 6-for-11 from the field.
SNU forced 21 Mobile turnovers and held the Lady Rams (3-8) to just 36.5 percent from the field. Mobile hit just two 3-pointers all game. The Storm shot 40.8 percent (29-71) from the field.
Southern Nazarene didn't pull away from Mobile until midway through the first half. After trailing early in the game, Martin broke a 15-15 tied with a jumper and kick started a 15-4 run to put the Storm up 30-19 with 5:07 left in the half. Mobile cut the deficit to 30-22, but Marra hit back-to-back buckets and Johnson drained a pair of free throws as SNU scored the final six points of the half to take a 36-22 lead into the locker room.
The Lady Rams came no closer than 10 in the second half, but SNU went on a 12-5 run in the final 4:25 to put the game away.
The Crimson Storm will now close the non-conference season by hosting Evangel (Mo.) in the final game of the Crimson Storm Classic.
