BETHANY, Okla. —
Saturday night's game between Southern Nazarene and Oklahoma Baptist had more shifts than the New York City Police Department as OBU edged SNU with a golden goal in the second overtime period to pull off the 6-5 win.

The Crimson Storm (4-8, 3-2 SAC) had come into the night having won three of their last four and were staring down the barrel of a 5-2 deficit when life started to spring again.

Right at the beginning of the 66th minute Josh Thomas made it a 5-3 game on a penalty kick and the comeback was on. Javier Caballeros cut the deficit to 5-4 when he took a pass from Ricardo Valentini and found the back of the net. The game-tying goal came in the 88th minute when Coby Wright lifted a long cross from almost in front of the SNU bench and dropped it about three feet in front of the goal next to a crowd that included Thomas. The sophomore then gave it the right push to make it 5-5.

Both teams had their chances in the first overtime period, but it wasn't until the 105th minute that OBU's Victor Cost drilled home the golden goal.

SNU actually took the first lead of the game when Thomas fed Blake Rodgers in the 20th minute to give the Storm a 1-0 lead. Then came a barrage of goals as five were scored in a matter of eight minutes. The Bison answered in the 32nd minute to tie it at 1-1, but just 21 seconds later Caballeros scored the first of his two goals to make it 2-1 SNU.

OBU responded with three goals in the next six minutes to take a 4-2 lead at the half and added another in the 49th minute to make it 5-2.

All six OBU goals came from Pedro Pereira and Costa who each notched a hat trick. Thomas also had two goals and two assists. Blake Anderson gave up four goals and made two saves while Tyler Wythe gave up two goals and made eight saves.

OBU put 16 of their 26 shots on goal while SNU took 21 shots and put 11 on goal.

The Crimson Storm now gear up for a trip to the Texas panhandle, as SNU will take on Wayland Baptist, Tuesday, at 7 p.m.
