Box Score
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — Logan Martin scored a team-high 19 points for Southern Nazarene in a 73-57 loss to No. 2 Oklahoma City.
The Crimson Storm (12-4, 6-2 SAC) had no answer for the Stars' (16-0, 8-0 SAC) defensive pressure that consistently forced SNU out of its offensive sets to the tune of 25 turnovers.
Martin was the only Storm in double figures as she went 6-for-10 from the field and 1-for-4 from outside. She was also 6-for-8 from the charity stripe. Audra Skimbo added nine points and seven boards while Kristin Millster had seven points.
The Storm shot 43.8 percent (21-48) from the field and hit just 27.3 percent (3-11) from 3-point range. SNU though did go 12-for-14 from the free throw line.
OCU's Donica Cosby led all scorers with 26 points as she was one of three Stars in double figures as Starr Fairbanks added 19 points and eight rebounds and Lauren Gober scored 10. Oklahoma City shot 42.4 percent from the field.
SNU led just one time the entire game and that was at 2-1. The Crimson Storm trailed just 12-9 with 11:47 left in the first before a 21-6 run gave the Stars their largest lead of the half and SNU never got the game back into single digits.
Every time the Storm inched closer and looked like they might get the game back within reach, the Stars came up with clutch buckets. The closest the Storm came in the second half was 62-51 on an Abbey Marra layup, but Cosby answered right back with a deep trey to spark a game-ending 11-6 run.
The Storm now get set for a home deep home stretch as they host eight of their next nine games inside the Sawyer Center. First up is Mid-America Christian who comes to Bethany for a 6 p.m. tip.
